MOBILE AMPLIFIED MULTIPLEXING OF NUCLEIC ACID & PROTEIN ANALYTES
Guanine Inc. is a diagnostics technology company that has patented a stackable electrochemical detection tag. Guanine assays can amplify and multiplex nucleic acid and protein analytes by attaching millions of tags instead of replicating millions of copies. Signal amplification by tag attachment is rapid, simple and inexpensive, and eliminates the need for PCR or isothermal replication. Millions of guanine-rich oligonucleotide tags conjugate to a microparticle with ligands to capture analytes then form sandwiches on biosensor electrodes. When voltage is applied a burst of electrons produces a guanine oxidation peak proportional to the target’s concentration. This allows fast and accurate detection with an inexpensive mobile electrochemical smart phone reader.
Guanine-Amplified sandwiches can be made with hybridization assays or immunoassays.

Signal amplification is achieved by binding analytes with a magnetic particle conjugated with millions of guanine-rich oligonucleotide tags instead of replicating millions of copies.

Multiplexing is attained by creating multiple analyte sandwiches using multiple analyte-specific particles, multiple working electrodes, and multiple tags employing electroactive G,T,A or C nucleotides.

A NEW GENERATION OF MOBILE APPLICATIONS
Amplified multiplex testing is critical for testing many important illnesses, particularly those that present with similar symptoms. Unlike other technologies, Guanine can amplify and detect multiple nucleic acid and proteins from the same test to offer rapid, simple and inexpensive detection in a portable device. Guanine is ideally suited for:
- Mobile assays that replace labor-intensive lab testing such as two-tier Lyme disease tests and Pap Smears
- Mobile assays that detect nucleic acids and protein analytes from the same sample such as infective pathogens, resistance genes and protein toxins
- Mobile assays that detect low level proteins such as cancer biomarkers and neurological biomarkers
- Syndromic testing with inexpensive electrochemical amplification and detection that replace multiplex PCR such as sepsis and GI pathogens
